Donna Kay Rowlison

Donna Kay Rowlison, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024 in Kirksville, MO while surrounded by loved ones.

Donna was born in Macon, MO on October 17, 1946 to Durwood “Woody” and Evelyn (Wriedt) Gipson. She was the oldest of six children and grew up in Edina, MO.

Donna married the love of her life, John Rowlison, on September 18, 1965. They spent over 48 amazing years together, raising four children, before John passed on March 18, 2014.

Donna was a kind and giving person who enjoyed life and loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. She was committed to her family and was always willing to listen and lend a helping hand. She was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be kept close in the hearts and memories of those who loved her.

Donna has been reunited with her loving husband John, as well as her parents Woody & Evelyn, parents-in-law Richard & Irene Rowlison, brother Roger Gipson, brother-in-law Charlie Rowlison, sister-in-law Reta Yoakum, son-in-law Leon Hayes, grandson Austin VanOster, nephew Travis Arment and nephew Kevin Yoakum.

Keeping her memory alive are her children: Angela Justice and James of Edina, MO; Nadon Hayes and Gary of Novelty, MO; Greg Rowlison and Kay of Macon, MO; Gary Rowlison and Rhonda of Odessa, MO; uncle Billy White of Clifton, VA; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four sisters, four brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family, as well as her many friends.

Visitation will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00am with services starting at 1:00pm. Both will take place at Knox City Baptist Church, 115 N. Newark St., Knox City, MO 63446.

Private burial will take place at I.O.O.F Cemetery in Hurdland, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made toward funeral expenses. A donation box will be available at the church or contact one of her children directly for assistance.
