Judy Darlene Flores

December 29, 1943 — February 12, 2025

Judy Darlene Flores, a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and cherished sister, passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on December 29, 1943, Judy's journey in life began in the vibrant community of Goose Creek, TX, before moving to Missouri where she graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1962.

In 1964, Judy married the love of her life, Stephen Flores, embracing a partnership that was filled with laughter, love, and countless dances in their home to the sounds of classic records. Their bond flourished through the years, creating a warm foundation for their family. Judy took pride in being a stay-at-home mother until her children were school-aged, after which she transitioned into her dedicated role as a Food Service Manager for the Kansas City School District, where her caring nature truly shone through.

Her love for reading and appreciation for old movies became a haven of relaxation and joy in her life, while her holiday spirit was evident in her unique tradition of completing Christmas shopping during the summer, ensuring not a flake of snow could impede her plans.

Judy’s spirit extended far beyond her professional accomplishments. She poured her love into her family, including her beloved children, Denise (Terry) Norton, Stephen (Donna) Flores Jr., and Jason (Tina) Flores, and seven grandchildren who looked up to her as a guiding light. She was also blessed with eighteen great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. Judy also leaves behind her dear sisters, Kathleen Taylor-Hamlett and Patti Woodward, alongside a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored her warmth and kindness. The memories of her warm embraces and gentle guidance will forever remain cherished by her family.

She now joins her beloved husband Stephen Flores, along with her grandson Jonathan Flores, her brother Robert Taylor, her son-in-law Todd Smith and her parents, Lavoye and Ruby Taylor. Their reunion shines brightly as a testament to the love she cultivated throughout her life.

As we remember Judy, we celebrate the vibrant life she led, filled with unconditional love, unwavering strength, and cherished moments with family, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
