Phyllis Marie Villemure, 97, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Born September 9, 1927, in Lenox, IA, she attended school in Baldwin City, KS and graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, MO. She was a legal secretary most of her life. An avid square dancer, she was a member of Bee Squares, Trick Trackers, and Swangers. She was preceded in death by her parents Hal Landes and Evelyn Schmidt and son, Darrell Meeker of St. Joseph, MO. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Richard Villemure of Independence, MO; daughter Donna (Kevin) Adamowicz of Euclid, OH; daughter Julie Orahoske of Willoughby, OH; son Tim Kistner of Kansas City, MO; step-daughters, Shirley (Ben) Lyle of Pinehurst, ID; Mary (John) Mayes of Raymore, MO; Debbie (Gene) Gamble of Lee’s Summit, MO; and Nancy (Glen) Ellis of Fremont, NE; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces Cathy Crouthers of Colleyville, TX and Caroline Crouthers-Case of Montrose, MO.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 2:00 pm, followed by funeral services at 3:00 pm at Valor-Brown Funeral Home 30000 Valor Dr., Grain Valley, MO 64029.
